Determination of SU(6) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients and baryon mass and electromagnetic moment relations.
We compute and tabulate the Clesbsch–Gordan coefficients of the SU(6) ⊃ SU(3) × SU(2) product 56 ⊗ 56, which are relevant to the nonrelativistic spin-flavor symmetry of the lightest baryons. Under the assumption that the largest representation in this product, the 2695, gives rise to operators in a chiral expansion that produce numerically small effects, we obtain a set of relations among the m...
متن کاملMagnetic moment of ∆ baryon in QCD string approach
Magnetic moments (m.m.) of the ∆++ baryons is computed within the new approach based on the QCD string Hamiltonian. The string tension σ is only dimensionful quantity forming m.m. of both nucleon and ∆++, but color Coulomb and spin-spin interactions cancel each other in nucleon m.m. while in ∆++ they add coherently. The result μ∆++ = 4.36μN is in good agreement with experimental data. Recently ...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Mass Difference of Heavy Mesons
Using the Cottingham formula, we give an estimate of the electromagnetic mass splitting of pseudoscalar heavy mesons in the beauty and charm sector. We include in the dispersion relation the Born term, the 1 resonance and the positive parity 1 resonance. We also evaluate the contribution to the mass difference from the isospin breaking quark mass differences. Our results: mB+ − mB0 = −0.83 ± 0....
متن کاملElectromagnetic mass difference on the lattice
We calculate electromagnetic mass difference of mesons using a method proposed by Duncan et al. The RG-improved gauge action and the non-compact Abelian gauge action are employed to generate configurations. Quark propagators in the range of mPS/mV = 0.76− 0.51 are obtained with the meanfield-improved clover quark action. Chiral and continuum extrapolations are performed and the results are comp...
متن کاملThe mass structure of SU(3) baryon antidecu- plet and pion muon mass difference
We show that the mass intervals among the pentaquark baryons Θ, N∗(1685) and Ξ− 3/2 proposed to be the members of the SU(3) antidecuplet are exact integral multiples of the mass difference between a neutral pion and a muon i.e. 29.318 MeV. This is in agreement with the general tendency of the mass differences among elementary particles to be close integral/half integral multiple of mass differe...
